Many people believe cinnamon cures a variety of illnesses even though there’s little to no medical evidence to prove it. But historically, cinnamon has been used to treat diabetes, rheumatism, and as relief for digestive problems like gas and bloating. Can it also help control blood sugar and improve other, more devastating, health problems?
When you combine cinnamon with other herbs like bitter melon, fenugreek, chromium, gymnema sylvestre, nopal, and ginseng, you may experience relief as all these herbs work together.
Bitter melon is a fruit that shows ability to enahance a cell’s uptake of glucose, promotes insulin release and potentate the effect of insulin.
Fenugreek is a spice and herb that’s been used for kidney conditions, high triglycerides and high cholesterol.
Chromium helps metabolize normal protein, fat and carbohydrates. It also regulates appetite, reducing sugar and lowering body fat.
Gymnena sylvestre also improves uptake of glucose into cells and prevents stimulation of more glucose being produced by the liver so it also reduces blood sugar levels.
Nopal has been used to block absorption of sugar in the intestinal tract, lower blood pressure and help with the breakdown of fat.
Ginseng has helped diabetics alleviate stress and fatigue and increase strength and endurance.
It’s difficult to combine all these herbs and spices together in the right quantities to make it work for you. But there’s a product called Cinnamon 6 that I’ve heard has all of these herbs and spices together in the right quantities to be effective in relieving the discomfort from some of these health issues.
The medical evidence for cinnamon cures is still not proven. So you should never stop taking medicines prescribed by your physician if you are suffering from diabetes or any other health problem. Always consult your physician before you take an herbal supplement.
