South Beach Supercharged Diet Review

One of the reasons I first started Healthy Living for Moms relates to my struggle to overcome my weight problems. It’s been a millstone around my neck since my first daughter was born and instead of getting better, I continue to gain weight year after year. Some years I’ll hold steady but it’s always a struggle to maintain and not gain.

So, my latest weight loss program is the South Beach Supercharged diet. It’s just like South Beach only it’s Supercharged with a workout program that includes a lot of muscle work. Unfortunately, I can’t participate in that part of it because of a bad knee. Oh, well.

So it should be no surprise that I’ve not had much success with SBS so far altho I can’t really blame the diet. I’m just weak and can’t seem to follow the rules of “no bread”. I jumped into SBS Phase 2 and have had some success with just eliminating bread from as many meals as possible.

The recipes in the new and improved South Beach Supercharged book are  a lot more accessible than the last SB diet book. Phase 2 includes “Sun Dried Tomato and Feta-Stuffed Chicken Breasts” and “Stir Fried Chicken with Soba Noodles”. Yum!

I think that being on the Phase 2 part of the South Beach Supercharged diet might make your weight loss not as fast as it would if you started on Phase 1 but for me, it works. I’m holding my weight down and once my knee gets under control (i’m doing Physical Therapy on it twice a week now), I think I’ll be able to eventually lose the weight.

I’ve made the decision that this is a battle I will never quit. I know that I can’t just give up if only for the sake of my overall health. I may not be as “skinny” as I want to be but if I just gave up on eating a healthy diet, I can see all kinds of health problems in my future.

So the fight continues. The diet never ends. But at least I am staying vigilant over my health the best way that I know how.
