Tomorrow I start Jenny Craig

Last week I went to Jenny Craig to inquire about their program and I decided to do it. Unfortunately, I was leaving for a trip to Texas and I knew that would be  disaster, to start a diet while traveling. So I decided to hold off until I got back and today is the day I go in and pick up my food. I’ll be starting tomorrow.

I’ve tried just about every diet known to mankind and FAILED at every one so what makes me think that Jenny Craig will be different? 

Well, Valerie Bertinelli did it and that’s all the endorsement I need.

Ha Ha, not really.

After talking to the owner of the franchise and then the counselor, I liked what they told me about the things I was worried about.

Like, eating food that doesn’t taste real. I don’t want to eat rubber chicken. They assured me that while other programs use dehydrated food, Jenny Craig doesn’t. It’s also owned by Nestle and they have over 20 vendors supplying their food. So if a dish doesn’t taste right, they just get another vendor who can make it taste good and right. Plus, Nestle makes chocolate and chocolate is good. Therefore, Nestle is good!

I also like the fact that you add real food to the mix like vegetables and fruits and free foods like sugar free pudding. Mmmm. The Jenny Craig volumetrics program is simply adding enough of those free foods (not just the pudding) like vegetables and fruits so that you are full but not adding too many calories to your meals and snacks. They told me I would never feel hungry on their program and I beleive them after looking at some of the menu plans.

They also have a counselor to help you once a week with any issues you might have with following the diet or exercise program.

And they include every kind of food you can imagine. Even dessert. I can’t live without dessert.

They also help you transition to real food once you reach your goal weight with cookbooks and recipe ideas to help you adjust.

So I start tomorrow and I don’t plan on making this an “all Jenny Craig all the time” blog but I will be posting updates on my progress and impressions of how it works. And I’ll share some pictures with you, too, if all goes well!

    Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am wishing you all the luck to accomplish your goals with Jenny Craig. I also signed up to start with them. I get my food today. I’m anxious, but really hoping that this time works. Like you, I’ve tried every diet known to man and while I have lost weight on them, I’ve never kept it off. Anyway, good luck and I look forward to hearing how your journey goes :)
