If you think that youll be running for an hour everyday during Lynns cardio sessions, WRONG! She lists over 70 things you can do thats a fun cardio workout. The strength training part looks a little toughwell see how I can work that in without injuring myself! Im sure she has some good pointers about that. Then the stretching and cooling down, which I sometimes skip over. Hmmm, maybe thats why I get injured???? Finally, the rest part. I dont have to do <i>all</i> of it everyday! In the last part, she pulls it all together for me. When I start my new cardio routine, I need to make sure I spend some time in my <i>target heart rate range</i>. Its a list of questions that show where your level of motivation is for exercising. Heres where I scored: <b>Interest and Enjoyment</b> 2.4 -low. <b>Competence</b> 3 - moderate <b>Appearance</b> 6.3 - strong <b>Fitness</b> 5.8 - moderate <b>Social</b> 1.4 - low So it looks like my strongest level of motivation for doing exercise is to look good and feel fit. Hmmmm. Lynn says to target those areas where I scored low with specific motivational techniques. I hope shell be sharing those in future chapters! Wed, 09 Jul 2008 00:50:33 GMT Melt the Fat - Day One!! Today is Day One of starting <b>Melt the Fat</b> and to be honest, I've never been more UNmotivated to begin a weight loss program. I can't even begin to start reading the menu plans and lucky for me, Lynn starts out her program slowly with an affirmation that I can use everyday to keep myself focused. There's also a fitness assessment and goal setting sheets to help me formulate the reasons why I am doing this and how it's going to get done. This affirmation is powerful. For me, this sentence says it all: <ul> "I am a person of integrity with the faith and wisdom to know what I should do and the courage and convictions to follow through". </ul> What a great way to start!
